Many of these schools have infringed upon the NAAS trademark, illegally profitted off of the superior integrity of National Academy of American Scholars, and have refused to compensate the legitimate NAAS. On March 27, 2010, the United States Patent and Trademark Office officially refused the attempted registration of a fraudulent application submitted byNorthwest Association of Accredited Schools, Inc, and its government/corporate alter ego (Idaho State Dept. of Education). On September 1st of 2010, the US Patent & Trademark Office issued a public Notice of Default to Northwest Association of Accredited Schools, Inc. Per Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 55(a), the default is evidence of and a legal admission that ALL of the allegations against Northwest Association of Accredited Schools, Inc. are true. NBC Solid Surfaces Earns First MIA Accreditation
NBC Solid Surfaces of Springfield, Vermont is the first company to earn the Accredited Natural Stone Fabricator designation under the Marble Institute of America’s long-awaited accreditation program. “After two and a half years of planning and hard work by a number of industry leaders and the MIA staff, we are very pleased to announce our first fully accredited company, NBC Solid Surfaces. This is a milestone event for both our association and the industry as a whole,” said Gary Distelhorst, CAE, executive vice president of the Marble Institute of America. “Within the next several years we expect to accredit hundreds of companies. In fact, more than 100 firms have already requested applications and more are coming in every week.” NBC Solid Surfaces, which originally started as a home builder in 1984, completed the accreditation process by successfully passing a facility inspection, as well as inspection of several completed projects in the Springfield area. The site inspection is the final steps of the three phase accreditation process. As part of the UK Vocational Qualifications Reform Programme employers’ and providers’ training can be recognised as part of the national system of accredited qualifications. One way to do this is to become a recognised awarding body by meeting the requisite quality assurance to develop and award qualifications. On 2 April 2008 the Quality and Curriculum Authority announced that the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, the Professional Lighting and Sound Association and the City College Norwich had been recognised as awarding bodies.
